Want to find out more about Zonta? Send an email to:
The Zonta Club of the Conejo Valley Area wants to meet you! We welcome new members interested in service to advance the status of women. You will be invited to a monthly Club dinner meeting so questions can be answered and we can get to know one another. We may also get together in a smaller group as an orientation meeting to learn more about the Club’s operation and history, the purpose of Zonta International, and to support you through the membership process. Zonta International’s By-Laws stipulate that women seeking membership should be actively engaged in a business or profession at the 50% level or higher, in a decision-making capacity, or so engaged within the last six months if retired, and should support the mission and objectives of Zonta International and the local Club. After receiving approval, a new member is formally inducted and welcomed into the Club.
I became a Zontian to work with others to stop oppression and discrimination against women who are in need of help. I want to share in the joy of helping some of those women realize their dreams through our club’s scholarship program, service projects, and advocacy efforts. I was looking forward to meeting other women from other areas of the globe who think like I do about these issues, and I did.”
Zonta International requires annual membership dues of $233 as follows:
- $83 Zonta International dues (includes $3 insurance fee)
- $40 District 9 dues
- $110 Club dues
- plus $15 one-time new member processing fee
Annual dues for members under 30 years old are reduced by 50% to $118. Dues are assessed and payable by May 1 for the succeeding club fiscal year, which begins June 1. Fees are prorated for members joining part-way through the year.
Our Club and its Foundation, a 501(c)3 charitable organization established in November of 1995, have separate Boards overseeing their operations and distribution of funds.
